Beth is a Product Manager working within the payroll and legislation team who partners with customers and other stakeholders to ensure the compliance of ResourceLink. Beth has recently evolved the visa and gender identity functionality of ResourceLink and introduced the powerful national minimum wage functionality. Beth holds a BA in Criminology & Sociology from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Head of Research and Thought Leadership, CIPD

Before joining the CIPD in 2013 Edward completed a number of research roles in government and higher education. Most recently he was a Knowledge Transfer Associate at the University of Bristol leading an innovative knowledge exchange programme between the university and Barclays bank. Over 3 years he managed research investigating business culture, corporate social responsibility and community investment. In this role he specialised in qualitative and quantitative social research techniques and strategic project design, developing metrics for the organisation’s flagship community investment programme in the UK. Prior to this Edward held a number of research analyst roles in regional and local government as well as the private sector, including at the East Midlands Development Agency, Leicester City Council and the Transport Research Laboratory

Helen Hargreaves
Associate Director of Policy, CIPP

Before joining the CIPP’s Policy team in April 2011, Helen worked for HMRC for 27 years. Holding the MSc in Business and Payroll Management through Derby University, Helen’s responsibilities with the CIPP include managing the Policy Team, writing articles for the CIPP magazine as well as external publications, attending consultation forums with different government departments, conducting consultation surveys and submitting responses to the various bodies. She also presents at CIPP and external events keeping payroll practitioners in touch with the latest developments in payroll legislation.

Matt Russell

With over 15 years’ experience working with HR teams across multiple industries, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and know-how to head up our fantastic Sales team. Matt has a keen focus on innovation and delivering people-driven solutions that help organisations achieve results. His background is in global sales, HR and talent, with experience of selling, designing and delivering complex solutions across the globe with clients from multiple sectors. Previous to Benefex, Matt was Sales Director for LHH Penna, where he was responsible for the UK sales team and commercial performance of the company. Before taking the helm as Sales Director, he was Managing Director of the LHH Penna Talent Practice with responsibility for revenue, products, solutions and delivery. As a senior leader in the business, Matt was part of the management team responsible for the integration of the LHH and Penna businesses in 2017 after the acquisition of Penna PLC. In his spare time, Matt is the manager for a youth football team and can periodically be found in the gym.

Dr Andrew McFaull
Lecturer in Accounting and Finance Education, Kings College London

Andrew McFaull's key research interests relate to the topics of personal savings and retirement behaviour, with a particular focus on investment schemes offered in the workplace. Andrew holds a PhD from the University of York, where his thesis looked at the economic, social and behavioural factors? influencing the investment behaviour and decision-making of scheme participants in broad-based employee stock ownership plans. Before joining King’s College London, Andrew held a research position at the University of Oxford supporting on a project in the financial services industry. He also worked as a Research Fellow in the Cabinet Office as part of the Behavioural Insights Team, assisting central government apply insights from behavioural economics and psychology to public policy. His research interests include: Retirement and Savings Behaviour, Work-based Savings Schemes, Employee Share Ownership Plans.

Gethin Nadin
Director of Employee Wellbeing, Benefex

Gethin is a psychology graduate who has been helping some of the world’s largest organisations to improve their Employee Experience for almost two decades. The last 8 years have been working as part of the senior leadership team here at Benefex. As a frequent writer and speaker on employee experience and employee wellbeing, Gethin has been featured in The Guardian, The Huffington Post and The Financial Times as well as all the major HR, Reward and Pensions publications. Gethin is also a regular keynote speaker, guest lecturer, founding member of the Engage for Success Wellbeing Thought Action Group, listed on the Employee Engagement Powerlist and one of Cardiff Life’s ‘One to Watch in The City’. In 2018, Gethin published his first book - the 5 star rated Amazon HR bestseller ‘A World of Good: Lessons From Around the World in Improving the Employee Experience’, which has gone on to inspire HR and Reward teams at some of the world’s best known brands.
